A Vibrant Internship Program – Perfect Match for radius’ Culture

radius financial group inc. prides itself on “making mortgages and insurance better,” but there’s something else we have mastered that dovetails perfectly with our focus on culture – and that’s hosting a dynamic internship program.

Our program takes young talent and places them in the middle of our operations doing meaningful, important work for the company. Here interns aren’t relegated to making coffee runs or slogging through busy work. Rather they are integrated seamlessly with the rest of the company and become essential to our day-to-day operations. This year five interns are joining us in various departments throughout the office.

Meet the Interns

Aidan Pilon, who is majoring in business management and minoring in law at Clemson University, is a loan analyst intern who works closely with loan officers and the rest of the operations staff. Currently he is tackling a series of training videos for the loan officers and loan officer assistants on best practices for creating and submitting a loan application.

In our tech department, intern John Cooper, a computer science major at Salem State University, is putting his skills to work by teaching the machine learning program to identify company documents, as well as writing validation rules in the bite software. Everyone in the office is delighted to have Cooper around for all their tech support issues, which he resolves with a smile.

If you’ve ever been to our office in Norwell, you’ve likely noticed the digital displays on the wall that actively promote hard work and drive people to hit their numbers. Data analyst intern Jacob Hines, who has already earned degrees in economics and finance from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in quantitative finance and risk analytics there, is in charge of analyzing and displaying data on these screens. This is a key role as the digital displays are one of the top ways that we visually present our company core value of being “Results Driven.”

Our marketing department currently hosts two interns, Patrick Naughter and Benjamin Collins, both video marketing associates working closely with the rest of the marketing team to promote radius’ brand and publicly share our values. They’re helping us stay on the cutting edge of creating new, exciting content to promote on social media. Naughter graduated in 2017 with a degree in cinematography from Emerson College, and Collins will attend University of Vermont this fall, majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing.

Why An Internship Program is Important to radius

“At radius, we constantly strive to attract professionals who mirror our clientele, who are increasingly skewing younger and more diverse. Our goal is to stay at the forefront of trends in tech, marketing, finance and more, and what better way to do that than to reach out to our next generation of associates and professionals and immerse them in our business as we focus on building the workplace of the future, today,” says founder, Keith Polaski.

“Our interns have so much to bring to the table with their energy and creativity, and we are delighted to see how they will positively impact our company and culture while they are here.”
