Loan Underwriter

We are actively recruiting for a full-time Loan Underwriter to join our Norwell headquarters.

The Mortgage Loan Underwriter underwrites residential mortgage loans, ensuring compliance with appropriate company and secondary market investor standards by performing the following duties/responsibilities.


  • Ensure each loan meets investor/agency guidelines.
  • Ensure all federal and applicable state compliance regulations are met.
  • Ensure all RESPA guidelines are met with respect to the Truth in Lending and GFE; that all GFE Change of Circumstances are in compliance.
  • Collect outstanding underwriting and/or closing conditions.
  • Ensure all mortgage commitment and closing dates are met, as well as any post-closing conditions that must be satisfied.
  • Become and maintain familiarity with the company loan products, application process, consumer disclosure requirements, POS Origination Software and general business practices of the company.
  • Possess a high comfort level accessing real-time investor seller and GSE guides to ensure top notch loan quality and loan saleability on the secondary market.
  • Responsible for direct interaction with the processing and production personnel on loan transactions.
  • Will have close interaction with the closing and funding staff as well as the post closing department to facilitate investor purchase on the secondary market.
  • All other duties as assigned, your responsibilities and duties may change over time.


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred;
  • Minimum of 3 years mortgage underwriting experience, with at least agency loan lead lending authority. DE/LAPP a very big plus;
  • Thorough understanding of factors affecting real estate values and credit analysis;
  • Knowledge of RESPA and MDIA regulations required;
  • Knowledge of automated underwriting systems (DO / DU, LP) is required (GUS is a plus);
  • Must have analytical and auditing skills as well as firm grasp on math;
  • Ability to organize, multitask and meet deadlines;
  • Well-developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Loan Processor

We are actively recruiting for an entry-level full-time Loan Processor to join our Norwell headquarters.

The Loan Processor will be responsible for the processing of files from initial loan setup through closing and post-closing functions with limited delegated authority.


  • Processes residential mortgage loans under various programs in a quality consistent with all company policies and procedures as well as meeting all regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains a pipeline of loans and is responsible for the timely and compliant flow of loans through the process.
  • Obtains and reviews necessary loan documentation and submits complete packages to Underwriting for loan approval.
  • Monitors and ensures closing dates and company deadlines are met.
  • Communicates with loan officers, buyers, sellers, title companies, builders and agents.
  • Obtains and verifies that all underwriting conditions are received and cleared by the underwriter and prepares the file for submission to the Closing Department.
  • Distributes and exchanges information with other team members, follows up with customers, refers customers to appropriate person(s), composes correspondence and memorandums.
  • Provides excellent customer service by effectively communicating and cooperating with all internal and external customers.
  • Keeps abreast of changes in policies and procedures, standards and regulations applicable to the company and the mortgage industry. Understands and applies local, state and federal regulations related to processing mortgage loans.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
